With the EP RAW, Trash Pillow digs deeper into the fractures of our world — each track confronting war in its own language: from global violence to the private battles we fight in our minds. It’s a record about what it means to stay human when the air itself is charged with conflict.
RAW is built from four distinct but interconnected tracks:
Bombs Make Her LOL – based on a true story from Syria’s war, about a father who teaches his 5 year old daughter to laugh every time a bomb explodes nearby — turning terror into a game to shield her from trauma, and exposing the heartbreaking absurdity of survival.
Eyes On Us (It’s the Sound of a Drone) – a confrontation with the double edge of modern drones: the surveillance machines that hover over protests to control and intimidate, and the armed drones that terrorise civilians in war zones. It’s the sound of paranoia, power, and danger coming from up above.
Fellow Traveller – a haunting reflection on the Goebbels children, victims of their parents’ choices during the collapse of the Nazi regime; a reminder that even in the heart of evil, innocent lives are consumed by it.
She’s From A War –the raw, human story of fleeing conflict in search of safety — a safety that isn’t guaranteed. It’s the story of millions who never chose to be born into war, yet must carry its weight across borders.

"Grieving Doves" is more than just a song—it’s a tribute to the Berlin-based activist group of the same name. The Grieving Doves are a grassroots movement formed by Berliners from diverse national, political and religious backgrounds. Drawing on the dove as a long-recognised symbol for peace and mourning, they lead demonstrations wearing wings adorned with the hand-written names of those lost in Gaza since October 2023—reminding the world of the toll on civilian life.

“Grieving Doves” will be available on all streaming platforms starting November 13. All proceeds from sales via Bandcamp will be donated to the Grieving Doves, furthering their efforts to promote peace and memorialize the lives lost.
